Challenges
- One of the biggest challenges was creating Propare's property rating system. Instead of giving a simple star rating, buyers evaluate properties across three different stages, each with its own questions, scoring rules, and calculations. The final score also needed to be accurate when comparing multiple properties and generating reports.
- Every property has its own conversation between the buyer and the agent. This meant users could have multiple chats at the same time, each linked to a different property. We also needed the chat to work instantly across both the mobile apps and the agent web portal.
- Manually entering property information would have been slow and error-prone. We needed a way to automatically import property details from the Domain Property API while also supporting properties that were not listed on Domain.
- The platform included buyer apps, agent apps, and an agent web portal. Whenever someone updated a property, sent a message, or completed a property review, the changes needed to appear across every platform without delays.
- Agents needed more than just property ratings; they wanted to understand buyer interest, compare properties, and track trends over time. Presenting this information clearly while handling a large amount of data was a challenge.
- Agents needed the flexibility to create and manage complete property listings directly from the platform. This included adding large numbers of property images, property specifications such as bedrooms, bathrooms, car spaces, and additional amenities. Managing high-volume image uploads while keeping the system fast and user-friendly was a challenge.
- Since buyers and agents communicate frequently regarding multiple properties, users needed to receive instant updates whenever a new message was sent. Ensuring reliable real-time notifications across devices and browsers was essential to maintain engagement and responsiveness.
- Agents required detailed reporting tools to better understand buyer engagement, property performance, and market trends. The challenge was presenting large amounts of property and viewer data in a clear, actionable, and easy-to-understand format across both web and app views.
Solution
- We built a flexible scoring engine that automatically calculated results for every property. The same calculation logic was used across the mobile apps, website, and reports, ensuring buyers and agents always saw consistent results.
- We developed a real-time messaging system that keeps conversations in sync across all platforms. Buyers and agents can exchange messages, and receive instant notifications, while every conversation stays connected to the correct property.
- We integrated the Domain API to automatically fetch property details, images, bedrooms, bathrooms, land size, and other information. For off-market properties, we also built a manual entry option so agents could create listings without any limitations.
- We created a shared backend that keeps all platforms synchronized. This ensures that messages, property ratings, recommendations, and reports are always up to date, giving users a smooth experience regardless of the device they are using.
- We built reporting and analytics features that convert property ratings into easy-to-read charts, reports, and comparisons. This helps agents quickly understand buyer preferences and make better decisions.
- We developed a comprehensive agent management panel that allows agents to add and update full property details with ease. The platform supports uploading up to 25 property images at a time, along with bedrooms, bathrooms, car spaces, and other amenities. This gives agents complete control over their listings while maintaining a smooth and efficient experience across both web and mobile platforms.
- We implemented web push notification functionality integrated with the real-time chat system. Buyers and agents now receive instant notifications for new messages and updates, helping them stay connected and respond quickly without needing to constantly monitor the platform.
- We developed dedicated agent dashboards for both web and mobile app views, providing powerful reporting and analytics features. Agents can access Overall Property analytics including scores, reports, viewer activity, and trend insights.
